There are plenty of excellent guest houses near Beccles. In the town there's Catherine House, a pleasant modern familly guest house as well as the recently converted Georgian Saltgate House.

Close to Beccles there's the Georgian red brick the Old Vicarage at Aldeby.

Below lies the 'lost'city of Dunwich, now little more than a hamlet, since the seas have etched away at the cliffs.

Further down the coast between Dunwich and Thorpeness, lies the nature reserve of Minsmere, a haven for bird watchers in Suffolk,
Aldeburgh is Benjamin Britten country. During the summer the finest music in Suffolk can be heard at the annual Snape proms held just outside of the town at the Snape Maltings .
Above: the harbour at Southwold enjoyed by those that love fishing and sailing in East Anglia, as well as the fine restaurants in Suffolk
Moving south, Walberswick has the tranquil charm of an old fishing village and is best visited during the week.

The Suffolk heritage coastline is just ten miles south east of Beccles.

Southwold, our nearest seaside town, is a wonderful example of an unspoilt classically English resort, much used by the makers of period films.
